Dinner Date Dinner Date is an invitation to spend half an hour as the subconscious of Julian Luxemburg. He has invited a girl at home for a dinner date and we join him when he awaits her arrival. With each passing minute it becomes apparent she is either late or will not show up. As the player is inside his head you can follow his every thought. As time progresses his character and the circumstances leading up to the date are revealed as well as what goes on in the mind of a man being stood up. Most of the game is spent from a first-person perspective, looking through Julian's eyes, as he sits waiting at the table. Player interaction is very limited and Julian cannot be controlled directly. The story is also entirely linear, but the player can alter the way it is perceived by looking in a certain direction or putting hints in his head. These are represented by floating bubbles. Julian can watch the clock repeatedly, tap his fingers, eat a piece of bread, start drinking the wine and so on. The game is divided into five chapters as the story progresses and in each chapter new subconscious options become available. [source:mobygames]
