Retourtje Mali is a Dutch educational title that tries to educate children about life in Africa. Mali is taken as an example of life in the African Sahel and the game offers information about the region and its people. The main goal behind the title is to remove the negative prejudices most people have about third world countries.

The main program allows users to virtually visit Mali. Additionally it includes a game mode in which players are asked questions. To answer the questions players must go on a virtual expedition to the city of Ségou and the village Missango. Players can try to find clues to the answers they seek by clicking on hot spots on the village map and the photo album of the Keita family.
