In Berlin Connection the player is journalist Roger Penros who researches the fall of the Berlin Wall. In November 1989 he visits Berlin but he and his contact get into the visor of the Stasi... During his research he has to undertake three time travels, e.g. to the Building of the Berlin Wall.
The game is played using the first-person perspective in a 360° view. The player moves through photographs and clicks on items of interest. The camera is an important item because some puzzles are based on photographing the right things or locations. The game design consists of different types of challenges: there are logic puzzles, labyrinths, timed puzzles and inventory puzzles, but the main focus lies in the gathering of information and knowledge about the historic backgrounds - if no attention is paid to them, it becomes difficult to find the hotspots.
