Alien Horde Alien Horde is a side-scrolling shooter in a space setting. Your task is to rescue a man named Stig, who has been captured by aliens. You start near your landing pod and have to fight your way through the alien territory, while waves of alien attackers are trying to push you back. At the end of each level, you have to fight a Mother Alien in order to be able to free Stig and return to the landing pod.

Your main weapon is a laser rifle which can be independently aimed in any direction. Additionally, you have homing grenades and a powerful shockwave (which slowly recharges after use) at your disposal. A robot dog accompanies you, providing additional firepower and protection against alien projectiles. Your landing pod also features a powerful stationary cannon.

Besides fighting, you also have to keep an eye on your oxygen support. It can be refilled by planting oxygen plants near your landing pod, but while you are going back, the aliens are able to reconquer territory. And if you start heading back too late, you won't have enough oxygen left to reach your pod.

The title was made as a free mini-game for the then upcoming Space Colony. [source:mobygames]
